Note
that Pangu is an untethered jailbreak for Mac and Windows and supports iOS 7.1-
iOS 7.1.2 running devices such as iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5c,
iPhone 5s, iPod touch 5G, iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad 4, iPad Air, iPad mini and
Retina iPad mini. The Pangu untethered jailbreak
release surprised the jailbreaking community last week and, it would appear,
Apple as well. We knew even before Pangu that the release of iOS 7.1.2 was
imminent, but with the untethered jailbreak tool in emergence, we wondered
whether Apple would take the opportunity to plug the exploit as it set about
fixing the email attachment encryption issue bug.
The iOS 7.1.2 compatible version of the Pangu utility is 1.1.0,
the same that jailbreaks iOS 7.1 and iOS 7.1.1, and can be downloaded here. It’s possible that a new version of the Pangu
utility will appear soon, but at the moment it does not appear to be necessary
for those looking to modify their iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch models running
the newly released update to iOS.
For those of you wondering whether the recently released
Pangu Jailbreak tool for iOS 7.1, iOS7.1.1, iOS 7.1.2 is safe to use, it has
been proved to be safe and stable. In case you don’t know how to jailbreak.
What Devices and iOS versions Pangu Supports Right Now:
The current version of Pangu can jailbreak the
following devices.
- iPad Air
- iPad Air 2
- iPad mini
- iPad mini Retina
- iPad Mini 3
- iPad 4/3/2
- iPhone 6 Plus
- iPhone 6
- iPhone 5s
- iPhone 5c
- iPhone 5
- iPhone 4s
- iPhone 4 (up to iOS 7.1.2)
- iPod touch 5
As far iOS version is concerned, it supports iOS 7.1 – iOS 7.1.x
and all versions of iOS 8 (iOS 8.0, 8.0.1, 8.0.2 and 8.1). If you are running
any other version, like prior to iOS 7.1, you can now install the latest iOS
7.1.2 version on your iPhone 4 and iOS 8.1 on newer devices and then run
this jailbreak.
