iOS 8.1.3 Jailbreak Update

The security on Apples older 30-pin connecter was hacked a while ago which is still being used to aid in exploits found on iOS 8. With iOS 9 around the corner there is little to no chance the iPhone 4s (only 30 pin connector) will be able to run it. Therefore as time goes on this hack will be more important. For more information on the 8.1.3 jailbreak status.

Jailbreak iOS 8.1.3 for iPhone + iPad via TaiG Jailbreak 8.1.3 utility or Pangu via PP Jb. You can see some things about Jailbreak iOS 8.1.3. New iOS 8.3 is a technical update, aimed at removing errors of the previous version, which debuted on 9 December. Update iOS 8.1.2, recall, includes a number of improvements, including in the field of security and bug fixes.

While it’s unclear if iOS 8.1.3 patches up the TaiG iOS 8 jailbreak currently, it’s best to stay away from the latest update until we hear an official word from a jailbreak developer who has had time to look through the code and see if Apple patched up any of the exploits used to jailbreak the OS. TaiG has not yet confirmed whether iOS 8.1.3 breaks its jailbreak tool, but reports on the MacRumors forums and on Twitter suggest that is indeed the case. Apple's support document detailing the security fixes in iOS 8.1.3 credits the TaiG jailbreak team for finding four now-patched vulnerabilities in the operating system.

The good news for those iOS users who have upgraded to iOS 8.1.3 already, but who also wish to keep the jailbreak intact, is that they can still go back to iOS 8.1.2 for a limited time, as long as Apple is still signing the previous iOS 8 version

III. Prepare the iPhone/iPad for the Pangu Jailbreak

Pangu is finicky and needs some things disabled or it won’t work properly.

1. Go to Settings > Turn off Wifi.
2. Go to Settings > General > Touch ID & Passcode > Turn off the passcode entirely.
3. Go to Settings > iCloud > Find My iPhone and turn that off as well.

Pangu Jailbreak Tool for iOS 8

  • Back up your iOS device. Head to Settings > iCloud > Backup and select "Back Up Now"
  • Disable the passcode on your device. Head to Settings > Touch ID & Passcode and disable the passcode if you're using one
  • Enable Airplane Mode: swipe up on your screen to open Control Center and tap the airplane icon

  1. Download Pangu official. This is your jailbreak tool. You'll also need iTunes 12, so if you don't have that, install it now.
  2. Open the Pangu tool once it downloads (Right-click to run as Administrator on Windows).
  3. Plug in your iOS device.
  4. When your device is recognized by Pangu, select the "Start Jailbreak" option.
  5. Click "Already Did".
  6. Wait for the tool to run. When it's complete, your iPhone will reboot. You can close Pangu now.
  7. Tap the Cydia icon to prepare the file system. That's it!
